The principal of Creators Educational Services Hina Saleem organized a farewell party for renowned poetess Shaheen Rizvi and her husband Ashraf Ali, who are leaving for Pakistan after a long stay in Kuwait. The event was helmed by poet, scholar, journalist and marsiya writer Safdar Hamdani, who arrived in Kuwait from Britain. Attendees spoke about Rizvi, Ali and Hamdani at the gathering.
Rizvi said she loves the soil of her country – that’s why they prioritized going back to Pakistan, while many people prefer to migrate to the US, Canada, Europe, etc. She recalled fond memories of her lengthy residence in Kuwait, saying they will always be remembered. She thanked the Pakistani community in Kuwait, which always showered her with love and respect. She then recited a few of her poems.
The host of the gathering Hina Saleem said Rizvi has always guided us. She said her institute was founded in 2005 and is affiliated with University of the Punjab, adding they are now providing master’s degrees in various fields. Hamdani said this is his fourth visit to Kuwait, adding he has always received an enthusiastic welcome from Pakistanis here. He also recited a few poems in conclusion.
