KOREA HOSTS SUCCESSFUL TRAVEL TRADE ROADSHOW IN KUWAIT

The Korea Tourism Organization held a successful roadshow event in partnership with Korean Air with the aim to promote Korea as a year-round travel destination and to highlight the latest tourism attractions for the upcoming seasons. The event sought to promote ‘Imagine Your Korea’ and to inspire visitors to spend their upcoming spring/summer vacation with typical Korean cultural experiences.
The promotional tour concluded in Kuwait – one of Korea’s key source markets within the GCC – after making stops in the United Arab Emirates.The well-attended B2B event, which targeted key travel trade, media and other stakeholders, was held at the Marriott Hotel, where Korean Ambassador Hong Youngki inaugurated the event with a welcome speech confirming his commitment to the local travel market. The ambassador highlighted during his speech: “Kuwaiti travelers are very welcome in Korea. Here they will find a huge variety of destinations and top quality services. This is why so many Kuwaitis visit our beautiful country and return again and again. Be part of them!”
The event had an extensive lineup of diverse activities and exciting entertainment aimed at families and children, who were able to experience what ‘Imagine Your Korea’ is all about. Hong drew attention to Korea’s great touristic diversity. “South Korea is one of the preferred destinations for Kuwaiti travelers, and we are proud to have established such strong tourism and trade links between our two countries. Korea is a fantastic place not just to visit, but also to study, seek medical treatment and do business, and we look forward to welcoming more Kuwaitis to our wonderful country!” he said.
Recognizing the importance of the Kuwaiti market, Kenny (KyooSang) Kang, Regional Director, Dubai Office for the Gulf countries at KTO, commented: “Kuwait is one of Korea’s key source markets within the GCC and travelers can enjoy great travel connections from Kuwait to our country. We are thrilled to raise awareness on what Korea has to offer together with our valued partners and hope to be able to inspire travelers to experience our beautiful country during the upcoming seasons. Shafiq Ibrahim, Marketing Manager, KTO at regional office, gave a presentation about tourism in Korea. YooSung Jae, First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Sameera R Parveen, Manager Kuwait Office Korea Air, and Mohammad Obeid, Commercial Manager at KOTRA (Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency) also attended the event.

The latest inbound tourism figures from the Gulf region reveal Korea is a popular holiday destination for Gulf nationals.
