Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait celebrates 72nd Independence Day

An impressive function was held this morning at the Embassy Chancery to celebrate the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan.
The ceremony began with a ﬂag hoisting ceremony. This was followed by a well-attended function in the Quaid-e-Azam Auditorium. Ambassador Ghulam Dastgir read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
In his remarks, the Ambassador highlighted that Pakistan’s Independence marked the successful culmination of a heroic struggle of the Muslims of the sub-continent for their right to have a separate homeland of their own.
“Aug 14 has been recognized as the Independence Day of Pakistan. The efforts and exertion of those leaders’ sacriﬁce are praiseworthy for the development of the country. Fortunately, Aug 14, 1947 our country, Pakistan has contracted freedom since we are going to celebrate Aug 14 with pleasure and joy. I wish everyone loves Pakistan that they should praise and should make the day memorable. These coming days are extraordinary that everybody should understand to wish and celebrate the day. So, I wish every Pakistani to celebrate Aug 14 wholeheartedly.”
On bilateral relations, he informed that the leadership of the two brotherly countries of Pakistan and Kuwait are determined to convert the huge reservoir of mutual goodwill into a strong partnership through expanding cooperation in diverse ﬁelds, notably trade, energy and investment. He also lauded the positive role of the Pakistani community in Kuwait.
This was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. The Pakistani community in Kuwait in collaboration with the Embassy also arranged a number of cultural events to mark the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan.
