Each Muslim male or female, rich or poor, married or unmarried, educated or uneducated, employed or unemployed, employer or employee, tall or short whether living in an Islamic country or otherwise irrespective of his or her topographical location, each year very much waits for long year to annually celebrate both Eids (Eid ul Fiter and Eid ul Azha) with great pomp and show and quite fortunately Tuesday 20th July, 2021 is the 1st day of Eid ul Adha in Kuwait where I am living for over 4 decades and very much surprisingly this year too like previous years, tomorrow Wednesday 21st will be 1st day on Eid in my beloved Pakistan.
We the Muslims as per the codified dictates of Islam are ordained by none but Allah that each one of us must without any exception whatsoever and under all circumstances must offer 5 prayers a day on each day of a week, month, year and decades and it should continue alike till the person breathes his / her last to be honest, rather dead honest.
Likewise, Allah obliges that all Muslims irrespective of their peculiar respective circumstances whether living from extreme east to the far end of west or, for that matter, residing from one end of south to the other end in north must pray irrespective of the seasons which could be summer, winter, spring and autumn, during dry season and rainy days inclusive of bright day time and dark night, one must pray without any exception come what may.
What surprises me the most and I definitely very much regret to pen that despite Allah’s instructions, not many Muslims go to their mosques which are far too many all-around in each and every locality particularly in Islamic countries to offer prayers, even one prayer, if not all the 5 prayers of the day which is very much shocking to be honest and those who skip any prayer of any day perhaps are ashamed to miss prayers otherwise they must have not missed in any case to tell you the truth.
I have no hesitation and or reluctance to pronounce without the least exaggeration that over all the situation is very much gloomy and similar at all the places on global scale, of course, with some difference in percentage only, because one way or the other all Muslims very much regretfully do not pray 5 times a day in mosques in Kuwait which is predominantly a Muslim country in any case and I am living here since many long years or it is Saudi Arabia which is known world over because of holy Kaabaa and Masjid e Nabvi or for matter even my beloved Pakistan ground realities remain the same to tell you the truth.
The mosque where I pray is just at stone away distance from my residence and the mosque gifted by a Kuwaiti philanthropist is very much spacious one which is fully airconditioned, fitted with cozy carpet and laced with sound system. There is a huge chandelier in the middle of the main hall right under the mosque dome. Each of its row accommodates around 100 plus persons which touches 100 percent during peak days like Friday and month of Ramazan in general and last 10 days if Ramazan in particular while quite regretfully on a normal day on average only two to three rows have worshippers otherwise the rest part of the mosque is all empty.
My goodness! On Eid day not only the mosque had over flown to be truly honest but also one could see people praying in the open without any air conditioner as well which is very much encouraging and not just for me but many other my co-worshippers also but at the same time, one could very vividly see far too many new faces, for the very 1st time in the mosque but it is almost impossible to answer the question as to who theses aliens were and from where they came to the mosque for Eid prayers?
I do understand that all the new faces are not those who just on Eid eve shunned their religions and turned Muslims so quite naturally they could not be found in the mosque when they were not Muslims. The other possibility could be that the new faces are those who reside in other cities or alternatively they are resident of different locality than this but came here to spend Eid with their friends and relatives hence they could not be seen before which is quite but natural and accepted but yet my question is that factually speaking so many new faces cannot be guest visitors to the concerned mosque in any case come what may.
The answer to the baffling question is simple or too simple but it is as bitter as quinine which we will have to swallow simply because that 99.9% new faces who offered Eid ul Fiter namaz were none but our neighbors living right under our nose but they never ever bothered to pray alike except on special occasions only which is very much regretted in any case.
Hold your breath and only exhale when asked to do alike. Unbelievable must be believed as I bet on my life that from the mammoth crowd of Eid prayer, not even 10% offered Zohar prayers right on Eid ul Fiter day very well proves beyond slightest iota of doubt that since time immemorial many of my Muslims brothers pray only twice annually on Eid ul Fiter and Eid ul Azha whom I name them as our Annual Muslims.
