KUWAIT: To mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between South Korea and Kuwait, the South Korean Embassy organized a cultural festival at Abdulhussain Abdulredha Theater in Salmiya. The festival, inaugurated by South Korean Ambassador to Kuwait Hong Youngki, was a weeklong display that highlighted the heritage, traditions and crafts of South Korea.
The finale was titled “Two Cultures One Special Night – Renewing Our Friendships”, featuring 11 performances. The first segment was a royal hanbok show, highlighting the traditional Korean dress. The most interesting item was a love song and creative dance based on chunhyangga, a form of musical storytelling.
In his remarks, the ambassador thanked the management of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters that provided this wonderful place. He offered special gratitude to young friends of the Kuwait-Korea Culture Diwaniya for their support and passionate participation in all segments of the event.
